I moved to San Diego in 2001, and was referred to Dr. Larsen at that time; and have been his patient since. He is very thorough, and fun to talk with. When I recently called for my annual eye exam, I was told he had retired. I chose to stay with the same office. I had my appointment today with Dr. Daoud. I felt comfortable with her immediately. She, too, is very thorough, and had a nice way of explaining things in a way I could understand. I will continue to be her patient; and look forward to seeing her next year. I like the selection of frames, and the great service from the receptionists. If Dr. Daoud is not working that day, I’ve heard great things about Dr. Wong! This is just a great office.
I’ve been a patient at Uptown Optometry for more than 10 years. When I heard that Dr. Larson had retired and sold his practice, I was understandably concerned that the new owners would not meet Dr. Larson’s high standards. Today was my first appointment. I’m happy to say that everything I liked about Uptown optometry continues under the new owners. The staff continues to be excellent, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Dr. Heely (sp?) is an excellent optometrist. She is personable, professional, transparent about everything that is being done during the examination. She had taken time to learn something of my history which made me feel comfortable. She answered my questions and provided excellent care and medical advice. I highly recommend Uptown Optometry.
Took my oldest kids there for an exam and my toddler and baby were being absolute beasts the whole time, but the staff and doctor were very nice and understanding. The doctor was really great with my kids, let them look at each others’ eyes with the microscope, really took time with them for their exam. I immediately scheduled my own checkup before I left!
The selection of eyeglasses is not huge, but as everything is very nice I would say they have a great selection. I didn’t see much in the way of kids’ glasses, but I will definitely be buying frames there for myself.
I’m just getting around to writing this review, I visited Dr. Larsen and his team for a routine eye exam. The entire staff was friendly and I hardly had to wait to be seen. Dr. Larsen is personable and took the time to walk me through the whole process and eye care in general.
I found everyone here to be very polite and helpful. The Doctor was very thorough and Lacy was very patient with me while she helped me find the right frames. I’ve been coming here for years and recommend them to all my friends!
