Another “Instagram Place”.
Food is pretty mid, not bad not good. Ordered a Bento box named “MEAT eaters bento”; just a few pieces of meat, lots of salad, kimchi and a few dumplings, not very fulfilling.
My girlfriend ordered the underbelly ramen and didn’t even finished eat saying it had no real flavor and somewhat salty.
Pork Belly BAO was ok as regular standard buns go.
The staff was indeed great and very attentive but sad to say not enough to come back.
Good ramen, fresh taste, nothing to brag about, but then again, please try it. It was worth the price, and the atmosphere is pretty cool and great service. #BeeHippyLifestyle
Great atmosphere, but the ramen was meh. Compared to other ramen in the area, underbelly lacked flavor. Cocktails were great though!
As you know, parking is always tricky in North Park but there is plenty of parking available in the neighborhood.
The service was so quick. We got water and as we turned around our food was already delivered to our table. They have self serve water (plain and sparkling) outside. I love how spacious outdoor/bar seating is on the patio. The music was great. A great vibe overall. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the area and craving some bomb ramen!
Food review:
Underbelly ramen: (5/5) The noodles, meat, and broth were all perfection in this bowl of ramen! It was a good portion and the meat was SO tender and delicious!
Tonkotsu ramen: (5/5) The noodles were cooked perfectly, pork was tender and flavorful, the soft boiled egg is always my favorite part, and the broth is delicious, I could just drink bowls of it. It’s not super heavy and has so much flavor.
Beef gyoza: (4/5) These were tasty, but there was not as much filling/meat inside as we like.
Short rib bao: (3.5/5) The meat was very tender, but the coleslaw and spicy mustard didn’t mesh well together in my opinion. I ate the meat, pickle, and bun and it was delicious. It comes with 2 buns, so plenty to share!
Not bad! Good noodles, good toppings, and pretty flavorful tonkotsu broth. I tried the chicken confit ramen and it was pretty good. Not the best ramen, not the worst, I’d come back.
The food arrived fast and the service is attentive, the seating is cozy and exposed to the elements, very enjoyable on a nice day!
Update: when here again and had the Thai curry ramen. It was pretty tasty, with my favorite part about it being the barbecue shrimp which was amazing. The soup itself was not rich enough for a ramen, it was more watery/clear broth, but not bad. Green 🫛 in it were raw.
The farmers market veggie ramen was absolutely awful. 😣
