    Extremely dissatisfied.

I was billed on Thursday for my tysabri appointment from last January. I know I had not been billed prior to then because I check my Athena account and my Aetna insurance app regularly. I have proof of when I was first issued that bill – not even one week ago today. It’s for $2,222.

Okay. Not a problem. I just have to wait for my card to come in the mail because I lost my other one and then I’ll pay it / patients have 30 days from when they receive a bill in order to pay it.

Yessenia manages the infusion center where I receive Tysabri. I’ve ran into issues with automatically scheduling my appointments because their infusion center is only open on two business days and sometimes I get sick or have meetings where I need to reschedule. Yessenia made rescheduling quite difficult so I opted to cancel all appointments and call each month to create a new appointment.

I tried to do that this month. I believe I’m already late on my Tysabri or approaching when it is due. I was not allowed to do that because of the bill I received last Thursday which I cannot pay until I receive my new card I ordered in the mail last Wednesday.

I’ll likely end up paying the bill tomorrow when my bank delivers my card. But I just want to leave this here for other patients so they understand that at the Neuron Clinic you are a CUSTOMER. You are not a patient. Your need for your medication does not matter more than their rules… which don’t make sense and don’t seem ethical, moral, or even common sensible given I could schedule appointments a year in advance or could’ve made my appointment last week on Monday before I was charged on Thursday.

You know why I didn’t call on Monday? Because I hate calling the office there and speaking with Yessenia. It sounds like she takes pleasure each time she presents an issue for me – very weird.

Also, I have other irritations with this office. But what happened today regarding the bill – I’ve always paid my bills and will continue to but treating people like that… whew. I will never recommend this place. I will look for a new neurologist.

    1. The front staff is very rude! The receptionist Delores exceptionally so and even tho there are many people saying this they don’t fire her so I guess they don’t really care how patients are being treated.
    2. The appointment was very rushed. You wait for these appointments for a long time and then they make you feel like they don’t want to actually listen to you. They want you to make multiple appointments for each symptom instead of looking at all the symptoms to see what could actually be wrong. Even for the same symptom they wanted to separate day and night! This makes no sense. They probably just want to make as much money as possible on appointments.
Not very happy with this clinic. The PA was the one that did most of the appointment and the doctor came in extremely rushed and was only there for 5 minutes or less.
They ordered a few tests. If they want to order tests first fine but to say you can only do a few symptoms at a time is not right. This was not at all a good experience. Idk how there are so many good reviews. It seems that they have their bad reviews removed every once in a while.
I’ll do the tests and see them again since it will take even longer to be referred again and get those tests ordered. If they treat me better next time I’ll possibly change the rating here.
Otherwise I will be asking to be seen by another clinic. This is sad that this is the best we have here in SD??

I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. I only gave one start because I have to in order to make a review. I was referred here from the VA because I had a syncopal episode. At my very first appointment the doctor asked me who I get there. I told her that I drove myself. She then asked if I had ever had any episodes while driving. To which I replied “never”. Finally, she asked me if I felt like I should be driving and I told her yes. She told me that she would have her scheduling team would reach out to me for an EEG, but that I couldn’t schedule one upon my leaving. I received in the mail a letter from the DMV stating that I had been reported to them as a risk and needed to complete a medical reexamination form to keep my license by a certain date or else my license would be suspended for noncompliance. I called numerous times and no one answered. I left voicemail as well. They didn’t contact me until weeks later after my license had been suspended. I eventually had the EEG and I did not have seizures or epilepsy. I asked the doctor to fill out the form, and she refused. She told me that I needed to see my primary care doctor to rule out other conditions. So I did, and I came back to her asking her to fill out the forms and she still refused this time with no explanation. This all took place in 2021. It’s not 2025 and I moved from California and my new primary care filled out most of the form except for the part that deals with that particular episode. I contacted the Neuron Clinic and asked if I could fax the documents and have her fill out that portion and she has refused. I have not had any more syncopal episodes and my primary care attested to that in my paperwork. This has severely impacted my life. I am only 28 years old. I am trying to have children, get a decent job, and I am a full time student. I am unable to drive to work. I wouldn’t be able to get myself or my future children to doctors appointments or school. I have already missed important appointments, going to my grandmothers funeral, and seeing my grandfather before he passed all because I couldn’t drive. I have begged her to at least look at the paperwork. The last time I called the woman that answered told me that I needed to come in and show that I haven’t had a seizure in 6 months. I told her that I’ve never had a seizure and asked her what she was talking about and she responded “oh that’s just what we normally tell people that call us for this reason”. Their office has said they’d call me back numerous times with answers. They never do and they never seem to know who I am or anything about the situation every time I call.

Please think twice about coming to this place. All negative reviews are more than 100% right on while remaining positive come from either fake or paid to say good about the office. This place will soon be reviewed by the medical board for repeated violations that go beyond what they can imagine. The medical assistants with no degrees question what their doctors do, and that should be enough to tell you to stay far away if truly care for your health. The largest number of patients that pay their bills to be in business are those who are unable to move or talk for themselves and are brought to their appointments by care givers.

Thank you for telling me on March 13th of 2023 that you had “Parkinson’s and cancer patients to take care of” and that you didn’t “have time” for me. After years of doctors basically telling me I wasn’t worth their time, I realized you ALL aren’t there to heal. This was the turning point I needed to regain my life, and no longer listen to medical “professionals”. Healing is out there folks, but it’s not with the “doctors”. They withhold their “healing” care for only those they think are worthy.

Your Hippocratic oath was to do no harm, yet you all do the most psychological harm of all.
