We love Italian food and this place claims to be “original Italian food” and definitely happy with what we got. Everything came out fresh and hot so we loved every dish. The antipasto specially. The sauces were very tasty. The only thing is we got sat in the bar area and we didn’t love it, it was little too crowded and small, you don’t get to appreciate the place much over there. We made a reservation and thought it was in the main room.
The main room had the live piano and way more vibes and fun than the side we were on… it took a little bit to get our order thru but besides that everything was good. Valet parking only 4$+.
Everything’s was perfect from starters to desserts. Loved every bite and the restaurant atmosphere was so beautiful. Definitely going to visit again. And oh, you don’t want to skip the lobster bisque. Also, freshly ground pepper really does enhance the flavor of everything.
Highly recommended.
Came to this San Diego old school Italian staple for a double birthday dinner, and other than the price tag, (it’s fine dining, so definitely worth it) it was a fabulous experience. Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, Penne Isidro and two orders of amazing lasagna with a side of meatballs (not pictured). We haven’t been here since the sale by the original owners, but I’d say it’s actually better.
Prices are on the high end and the parking is horrible (might want to Uber next time), but we will all be back someday, either as a family or with new friends.
Family and I go here for classic Italian food and atmosphere. Food has excellent flavor and the menu is very complete. I always recommend waiting to hear the dinner specials before deciding though. The full bar complements the dining experience and the wine list carries very nice Chianti choices.
For a fine-dining Italian meal that’ll make you feel like you are in Italy instead of Convoy District, I’d recommend The Godfather. The selection of dishes and quality of the food is exceptional, and the service is outstanding. Then save room for dessert.
