This taco spot is definitely in my top three best taco restaurants. Every taco was absolutely delicious, and I loved that some of them had guacamole—it added an extra touch of flavor. Plus, the tortillas were amazing—fresh and well-made.
I wish I had the chance to eat here again, but I ran out of time. Still, I highly recommend it if you want to try authentic Mexican tacos. I feel like this was one of the most genuine taco spots I visited in all of San Diego.
The restaurant is located in downtown San Diego, in an area with plenty to see, and I found it to be safe. Just keep in mind that there’s usually a line to get in. I waited about 20 minutes, and that was on a Monday night. But it was totally worth it!
Just got into town and my hotel was just down the street. This place was open lively and busy on a Sunday evening. The food was outstanding. It would’ve been better if I would’ve eaten it there, but I took it back to the hotel room. You can’t go wrong. The food is delicious and the people are pleasant. I had the Carne Asada 3 all the way, the beef was fantastic. Make sure to get grilled peppers and onions. I didn’t see Salsa.
We always get tacos el gordo when we’re in Vegas and this was our first time in this location. The set up and food was very similar (with a shorter wait time). Tacos were delicious as always. It was nice to be able to sit outside and eat too.
The most popular and authentic taco place at downtown. Cooks are making meats in their large open kitchen where mountains of meat can be seen. I’ve tried several proteins and each one tastes juicy and flavorful. I like tripe and beef tongue the most. Their sides are free. Onions are my favorite, but the green peppers are really spicy.
