The team at San Diego Optometry are fantastic! I recenlty lost my glasses and they were able to see me and rush a new set of frames and lenses in 4 days. The staff and Dr. Esfandiari are the best in the business. I highly recommend them for any eye care!!
If there were more than 5 stars to select, I’d give San Diego Optometry a 10! I had sudden pain, redness, swelling, and tearing in my eye right before a huge vacation I’d been planning for a year. They were able to fit me in on short notice, and Dr. Esfandiari assessed it as a corneal ulcer and started treating me immediately. This was on a Tuesday, and I was leaving on vacation on Thursday. Dr. Esfandiari had Wednesday off, but he made a special trip to the office to assess my eye to make sure it was starting to improve. While it looked like it was going in the right direction, he referred me to an ophthalmologist he highly recommended just to make sure. For his and my peace of mind. I was able to get in, and the ophthalmologist confirmed Dr. Esfandiari’s assessment and medications. Dr. Esfandiari called me on Wednesday night to check in and made sure I had his cell phone to keep in contact with him while I was out of town. The infection healed while I was on vacation, and I kept in contact with Dr. Esfandiari to keep him informed and he was always so very responsive. This genuine quality of care and level of service are very rare anymore. He truly cares about his patients, takes time with you, and makes sure any and all questions and concerns are answered. I am so appreciative of Dr. Esfandiari and highly recommend him and San Diego Optometry! And he also is the first optometrist who has been able to successfully fit me in the right monovision prescription with my contact lenses so that I don’t need reading glasses for everything – it’s been wonderful!
This is an amazing office. A big selection of glasses to choose from. The doctor and staff our super friendly and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. Autumn helped me with my glasses and I am super happy with them. Definitely 100% recommend them !!!!!
Dr. Esfandiari has the most patient and kind demeanor. He is complimentary and make syou feel so comfortable, like you are an old friend. I really enjoyed how he explained things going on with my eyes, and what I can expect in the future. I would highly recommend him and his wonderful staff. Everyone made me feel so welcome.
It pains me to write this because i’ve had really great experiences with the doctors here but I have to leave an updated review regarding the office. I selected frames and felt like my arm was being twisted into a color and of my selected design that I did not like or want. They have patterns on the inside and I was worried it will trigger my migraines, but they assured me they would order the frame selection I wanted and the ones I did not want “as an option” just in case.
I went to pick up the frames and the only ones there were the ones I did not want that I was being pushed towards. I tried them on again but I was really unhappy and just wanted the ones I picked. They did offer me to take the frames that I did not want home with me while they order the correct ones, but again I did not want them. I also did not trust that if I took these frames I wouldn’t be stuck with them. I was really disappointed that they didn’t order the ones I wanted and agreed to wait for those to come in. They told me they would rush order the frames and to give it another week.
I gave them two full weeks and have had radio silence so I decided to call and follow up, only to be told the frames I actually wanted are on back order and they aren’t sure when I can have them. While I understand this is a problem with their supplier that is out of their hands, I’m extremely disappointed that they did not communicate this to me when they are supposed to be fixing their mistake. They also could not confirm they were rush ordered like they had told me before.
I have barely gotten an apology for the mistakes and hold ups and there has been zero offer to make this situation better—no offer to ship the glasses directly to me so I don’t have to drive there during my working hours again, no discount, no offer to order an alternative frame that I could have sooner, literally nothing.
I also realized I paid for blue light blocking in my last frames and they did not order them, so this whole time I thought I had that protection that I paid for but I have been without. It’s safe to say although the doctors here are wonderful and very attentive to their patients, I won’t be returning due to the mishaps and poor treatment by office staff I experienced.
