Waited in line around 20 minutes on a Sunday night but it was worth it! My friend tried pear and blue cheese. We didn’t like that much. We also tried olive oil. Didn’t like that much. We got half honey lavender and their seasonal blackberry tamales. They were soooo good!
Second time trying salt & straw, last time was 5 years ago, their flavor is still very unique and nice! My family from Asia usually doesn’t like anything too sweet, but they all love it! In Asia, when people said the dessert is “not too sweet” it’s a huge compliment 😆 Highly recommend: chocolate brownie, and strawberry & coconut water sherbet. Coffee & nuts is nice too. My husband likes the pear & blue cheese.
Delicious alternative flavors that include some pretty wild combinations. Olive oil balsamic? You got it. I went with something a little more conservative. A Honey and Lavender scoop in a waffle cone. The lavender is prominent. Super delicious but also reminded me of the smell of essential oils. Not a bad thing. Uniquely interesting. Street parking is always a challenge in this area. There are a few seats outside and a couple of spots inside but if it’s busy you may just have to walk and eat. Yes you can ask for samples.
I loved the roasted strawberry and coconut which I haven’t seen for years, but we go often for vanilla since we keep it stocked. the apple pie ice cream was a hit recently but too sweet for me. I would say my recent favorite would be the brownie and chocolate and the worst was essence of ghost. The ice cream staples tend to be salty for me, so it’s not top of my list for dessert but It’s a must try if you’re in the area and like creative options to try for ice cream. The staff is also very nice!
Excellent ice cream in little Italy I got two scoops the chocolate almond gold bar it has almond chocolate bars, caramel, chocolate srracciatella, salted vanilla ice cream and the freckled mint chocolate chip bother excellent my wife got the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper she said she needed a side of vanilla ice cream to go with it the service was great
