Dr. Manuel has been our children’s pediatrician for over 14 years. We truly appreciate her caring nature and the way she takes the time to listen and understand our concerns. Her ability to connect with our kids, combined with her reassuring sense of humor, makes each visit a positive experience. It’s no surprise that we chose to remain with Sharp Rees Stealy primarily to keep her as our doctor.
Dr. Manuel has a rare and unique approach to Pediatrics; I mean this in a very good way. She takes her time with patients, and provides holistic recommendations. As a plant-based family, this is refreshing to have a Pediatrician that provides research backed evidence and recommendations. I feel lucky to have found Dr. Manuel as our Pediatrician. I’m hoping we can have a long-standing relationship with her.
I would like to start by saying that this was probably the worst experience i’ve ever had with a doctor. The doctor disregarded all of my concerns and basically said that it was nothing serious and that whatever my child had should just go away on its own. I kept insisting that there was indeed something wrong with my child’s condition and that I would like more lab work done or examination done and she did not even want to bother. My child was getting a bit restless during the visit as any kid at this age would. She then proceeded to give me unsolicited advice about parenting classes and a number to call etc. She said “one cannot do it all in their own” I was shocked because nowhere in this medical visit was I going to be discussing my parenting skills. This was a visit for my child to see a pediatrician for a condition that is present. She then proceeded to try to control my child and pinned her between her legs with her hands up and was holding them. I was very uncomfortable with the entire session and I told her that I just wanted a referral. She tried to apologize, but the damage had been done. After that, my child and I left feeling just awkward and weird. I wouldn’t even give 1 star but Google wouldn’t let me post the review with zero stars.
Peggy Manuel always provides us with quick, thorough care and gives very helpful recommendations. I trust her with my children’s health.
Dr. Manuel is very caring for her patients. She is also very welcoming and has a lot of knowledge on nutrition and has a more holistic approach which we appreciated so much!
