The restaurant is impeccably clean. Wait times are longer than some restaurants but clearly advertised. 15 minutes if not busy 45 if busy. There are only about 5 small tables so getting frozen dumplings to go home might be a better option for those in a rush. The bean curd salad was delicious. As were the Beijing hand cut noodles and cabbage pork dumplings. The dumplings are handmade and lightly seasoned so they are good in the dipping sauce. The jasmine tea was excellent. I felt everything was well priced and I had plenty to take home. Studio ghibli instrumental played in the background which was nice and the staff was very kind and quick. You can watch the dumplings being made (: Will definitely be back.
Note: this is not a standard Americanized Chinese restaurant. The food and service times are different, it’s tiny, and family run. Don’t expect fast food return times, modifications to the food, or a table open anytime soon. That being said it is worth the wait and a lovely little restaurant
Came to this family owned little restaurant for dinner. Owner’s little daughter took our orders, she’s really cute. We ordered the beef noodle soup and steamed chives pork and shrimp dumplings to share. As a family owned restaurant, you have to be prepared to wait for your food, not a big kitchen. But it’s definitely worth waiting. The beef noodle soup was very tasty. The noodles were soft and the beef was tender and flavoured. My husband typically liked the dumplings, very juicy and fresh. We enjoyed our dinner there and certainly will be back. Make sure you come early as there’re limited seats in the restaurant. Highly recommend!
First time having dumplings here. They were flavorful, juicy and hand made! We had the cabbage and pork dumplings and chive shrimp and pork dumplings with a celery and peanut salad! Great family business that serves awesome food!
I am thrilled to discover a new Chinese/Taiwanese dumpling restaurant in Point Loma today! The service was outstanding, with attentive staff who ensured a delightful customer experience. The food arrived promptly, exceeding my expectations in terms of speed. Each dish was a delight, and loved that there was a wide variety of dumplings and appetizers to choose from.
The green onion pancake had an incredibly crispy texture that was immensely satisfying. I also relished the green chive with shrimp and pork dumplings, which were served in generous quantities of 14 per flavor ordered. To enhance the flavors, I paired them with a custom dipping sauce I created using soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar in the spice rack.
In addition to the dumplings, I also savored the refreshing cucumber and wood ear mushroom salad, which served as a perfect palate cleanser between bites.
It’s worth noting that the restaurant has limited seating, with only about four tables available. In the event that all tables are occupied, I recommend opting for takeout to enjoy the delicious food from the comfort of your own home. We shared four dishes between three people, which was perfect. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is typically always packed during lunch, but there’s a handful of street parking. I look forward to trying other items on the menu and will be back!
Visiting from LA and didn’t expect to be blown away by this place, but I was humbled and mistaken. Patience is rewarded. Green onion pancakes, crisp cucumber and wood ear mushroom salad, soul-warming beef noodle soup, and delicate dumplings of scallop, shrimp, and pork. Each bite evokes nostalgia for simpler times. My girlfriend declares it surpasses Din Tai Fung.
