Almost two decades later and I’ve never experienced better care. Dr. Kumar first saw me as a patient when I was a teenager experiencing bizarre symptoms. I was terrified, but she was confident she would get everything to a manageable state— and over time she did just that! We worked together, she encouraged me every step of the way, and she used evidenced based practice in her approach. Dr. Kumar is constantly thinking outside the box, and most importantly she deeply cares about her patients. I now have very minimal symptoms and can say with confidence that would not be the case if it wasn’t for Dr. Kumar being the catalyst of my rheumatological care.
PATIENT BEWARE
I have a rheumatologist related problem I seriously wanted to have looked into. I had set an appointment up which I waited patiently for only to have it cancelled and they did not have a slot for me that I could make for the next 2 weeks. I told them I would try and accommodate her and take a time slot I most likely would not be able to make. It turns out I wasn’t able to make it. The receptionist asked her specifically if she could try and fit me in before 2 weeks out as I needed answers but she refused to accommodate me as I had offered to do for her. The receptionist at least cared but sadly some doctors care about their patients and others do not. If you are willing to wait a full month when your appointment gets cancelled go ahead and see her but if you really want answers quickly to your concerns I strongly recommend staying away from this doctor. Plain and simple.
I started seeing Dr.Kumar approximately two months ago. She was very thorough and straight to the point. Her expertise and the multiple exams she ordered lead her to a diagnosis. I’m now receiving medications to treat my AS and I’m confident Dr. Kumar has my best interest in helping me to maintain a good quality of life!
Dr. Kumar is by far the best Rheumatologist in town. She’s up front, honest and will work very hard to help you. She cares very deeply for her patients!
