Feb 28, 2025: been here several times & had the great honor to see some of my favorite up and coming comic talent, and every seat is a great view. Small’ish club so very intimate. Very decent drink pricing, especially for downtown. Get your season pass for the whole year – same price as TWO shows. PRO TIP: Mind the scheduled time for Doors and show start time, they do close the entrance door, making it a bit awkward so just be early.
Great historic bar setting. Intimate but not too small. Great comics. Laughed ourselves silly. Great time. Great value!
My wife and I came here for her birthday. The plan was to get dinner here, since both Google and the text on the side of their building very clearly state that they serve food. I’m mostly writing this review to make it clear to anyone else considering coming here that THEY DO NOT SERVE FOOD. Their claims on both Google and their own building are false. So we had to go somewhere else in the pouring rain to get food and miss part of the show that we had paid for. Had we known that they don’t serve food as they falsely claim to, we would have gladly come earlier, gotten food elsewhere, and then come to the show on time. But instead we missed the first half of the show, and no partial refund was offered. Though, to be honest, if the first part of the show was anything like the second half that we were there for, I’d say we didn’t miss much.
There are such better comedy clubs in San Diego and elsewhere that are far more worth your money. And you deserve the best, not a … Mad House.
I took my husband here for Valentine’s Day weekend and had mixed feelings about coming here because of all the reviews. Last minute we decided to give it a try. I’m sure glad we did because we enjoyed the Comedy Club. The drinks were good, the server was nice, the host was funny (kudos to him for running back and forth helping the staff and presenting the comedians). We had a couple good laughs and had a good time! I’d say keep an open mind when coming into the venue! and remember they are and coming comedians.
The MC is awful. I get that the unknown comedians are going to have good sets and bad ones. They are still figuring out their schtick, no worries. But the MC should be bringing the show together, keeping the crowd into the show. This MC made me want to leave before the first comic came up; awkward, poor timing, no ability to read a room. First time in front of a live audience? Wouldn’t shock me. Then, if the whole night is going to be awful (you get what you pay for I guess), at least be Johnny on the spot with the drinks. Getting two rounds in an hour and a half show when the place had about 1/3 of the seats filled… Oh no. If it weren’t for the comedians being allowed to roast the hecklers in return this show would have been absolute misery.
