Came here with some friends for Sunday brunch. The decor in this place is so intriguing and the vibe was good too. We were seated on the 2nd floor where a DJ was playing. The waitress checked on us frequently which was nice. I had the biscuit and gravy. The presentation was a nice touch. My biscuit was made into a pig! 🙂
The biscuit was delicious but the gravy was very salty. I wouldn’t recommend this as your first meal to eat here. But it’s a nice vibe if you just want to chill and meet up with friends or a date.
First time in San Diego, and Vibes were super great! I went for an anniversary, and everyone was super accommodating and sweet. Our table had a note waiting for us celebrating our night🥹
We were originally sat outside, as I believe the patio seats are more popular. However we requested to sit inside, and they kindly accommodated for us.
We ordered a few plates, as their menu is more set up for sharing- which was nice for some but only made it more difficult for me to choose (this is a good thing because there were so many tempting options)🙂↕️
Whenever we wanted to get a servers attention it wasn’t difficult because I believe they were fully staffed. and they made sure our waters were always full (which is a very big deal for me because i drink so much water!!)
The food was delicious, (I recommend the chicken!!) and they also gave us a little dessert as an anniversary gift which was very kind. (We didn’t eat it though because it was way too sweet and was lowkey too much caramel😭❤️)
They have valet parking which is convenient, but there’s also lots of street parking available as well.
Overall great atmosphere and service, which always makes the food taste that much better.
Thank you from Tokyo😇
I have loved Kettner for years because every time I go the food and the atmosphere is absolutely outstanding. They never have a bad day when it comes to their food or service. Their menu includes options for everyone, it seems to be a mix of Asian, American and even Mediterranean flavors. They have different vibes for all of the occasions. You can have a beautiful family dinner in the dining room, a night out for drinks at the lively bar or even rooftop cabanas for bigger celebrations. I truly think they deserve to earn their Michelin star instead of just being on the recommended list.
I’ll start with positive. The atmosphere and vibe are excellent. The upstairs dining area is lovely. The Duck meatball was good. Rich and tasty. Now the negative. The “curried” salmon collar had zero flavor, under seasoned with nary a hint of curry. The spicy shrimp noodles had tiny little shrimp that tasted very mineraly and a little off. The noodles them self were nothing special. The potato leek dish was 4 very little potatoes with a little leek yogurt for $16. I had such high hopes, but we were very disappointed.
Excellent food. Came for brunch and ordered the breakfast rice bowl. While it looks simple and bland, and while I almost didn’t order it because I’m not a fan of kale, I was blown away at the flavors and preparation of the dish. It was by far the best kale I’ve ever had, the soft scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection and little touches to each item from the rice to the broccoli made this an incredible meal, a long with the tangerine juice.
