Imaging Healthcare Specialists – Chula Vista

I came from out-of-state to consult with a surgeon in La Mesa. He wanted me to have a CT scan done, but I was leaving the day after tomorrow, so getting it done before I left seemed like a long shot. Nevertheless, he sent the order “stat” to IHS. To my surprise, they contacted me that evening and scheduled the CT scan for 7:45 the next morning. When I showed up at the facility in Chula Vista at 7:30 am, I sat in my car and checked in using my phone. Since I was out-of-network, I also paid in full for the CT scan from my phone using a credit card, and the amount I was charged was extremely reasonable. Both the receptionist and the technician were friendly, encouraging, and helpful. All in all, I could not have asked for a better experience. The scan itself took about a minute, and I was happily out the door by about 8 am. Perhaps the best news of all is that the report of my CT scan showed that I was subjected to only about 1/3 of the radiation dosage I had expected.

I really appreciate the changes they have made so much more organized than waiting for a long time to even get into the door. Friendly front desk service. Always a clean environment. Tech always explains the procedure you are having and is able to answer any questions asked. Thank you makes a diffrence .

I woke up very sick and was referred to IHS from the San Ysidro Health urgent care upstairs today for imaging. After some confusion at the front desk around which Sharp Health Plan medical groups IHS is contracted with, I decided to confirm with SHP whether IHS is contracted with my SCMG network by checking online and then calling the insurance company to confirm before running the risk of getting a surprise bill. The PSRs somehow took this personally and gave me attitude, which was unnecessary, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. I have no complaints about the quality of care during my brief visit, but that experience at the front desk was not cool. I won’t be returning if it can be avoided.
