We had a great time at Garibaldi. We happened across it as we’re staying at the hotel visiting from Seattle, so we dined outdoors (it’s snowing back home so we hoped for warmth!)
It was a little chilly, so David and the staff brought over some heaters and blankets and we were happy!
We also managed to catch happy hour, had two amazing cocktails, some oysters and calamari. All food/drink was delicious.
Chill music playing in the background, nice decor, and toasty heaters.
I can’t believe it was so quiet – we were the only ones outdoors (though that might have been the cold!) but it’s giving hidden gem vibes. Would definitely recommend, especially if you’re already staying here/nearby!
We initially planned to try the Italian restaurant on the top floor that we found out about online, but we couldn’t secure a reservation, and the bar area was packed. That’s when we stumbled upon Garibaldi.
We came for dinner on a Saturday night during MLK weekend and decided to dine outdoors. Unlike the busy atmosphere restaurant on the top floor, Garibaldi offered a pleasant and quiet ambiance. The place wasn’t crowded, and only two other tables were occupied outside.
It was chilly outside, which explained why most diners were indoors. However, the outdoor seating area was still a lovely spot with a beautiful view of the pier and the USS Midway Museum. The heaters kept us warm, and there were jackets provided for us to wear for extra warmth.
We really enjoyed the happy hour & dinner menu and were delighted by the service provided by David! Truly made our night😊
This was one of the best restaurant experiences we ever had! The view, the atmosphere, the food, and drinks (must try “Italian Ice”) – all great. The best, however, is the staff! Our Maitre De as well as our waiter David C made us feel like VIPs. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back.
This place was a gem we weren’t expecting. Our trip to San Diego was out of the blue so we didn’t fully research upon places to go besides the typical ones. However I saw this one on instagram and it looked quite nice, and we saw some info about their happy hour oysters and cocktails. We decided to go, yet with every place you see in Instagram you never know if what you saw will actually be the real service and food you receive every other day.
Let me say we were very pleasantly surprised. The way to get in is a bit confusing but from the street you go up the lift, and in the hotel lobby you’ll see a hostess who will guide you to the terrace they have. Then we were taken to their seats facing the really nice view of the port and the USS Midway. Kevin welcomed us, suggested the happy hour menu and he was very enthusiastic, asking us about our trip, giving us suggestions. We ordered the oysters, the calamari and the happy hour cocktails.
Everything was delicious, the oysters have a bit of a twist which made them even tastier. We couldn’t stay as long since we had other plans yet the time there was very memorable, it was one of our highlights and even after we had paid, Kevin came over with a drink that the bar had done by accident and offered it to us, no extra charge.
We are very glad we visited, and it’s the first time an Instagram/influencer recommendation is as good as seen there.
Went on a date with my husband to watch the sunset and grab drinks and a bite to eat. Great and quick service! Jeff was amazing and we will definitely go back
