Sadly after a great first experience, I need to update my review after the second visit and concomitant interactions with the office.
After completely failing to show up for the second scheduled appointment on a Tuesday (which I had to reach out about), they offered to reschedule to that Saturday — the reason I’d scheduled it for that week was because I was hosting a group in our back yard on Sunday — and so of course I accepted.
Saturday came and the tech (different than the first) showed up. He spent less than 10 minutes on site, and despite the main task being de-webbing, there were plenty of webs left around the property, including on the chairs I had explicitly mentioned as needing to be cleaned in the back yard.
I tried to call the office but as it was the weekend, I got a voicemail. Since I was hosting on Sunday, I ended up spending the time to clean all of that up myself.
After finally getting in contact with and telling my story to a first person, I was told they would need to have a manager call me. Instead of the manager calling me a couple days later, the tech that showed up contacted me — I once again explained how and why the service was unsatisfactory and was once again told that I’d have to speak to a manager…which was my understanding as to the next step before that anyway…
After playing phone tag with the manager for a good two weeks, I finally had a conversation with him. He reiterated their offer to come and re-do the service (I reiterated that I had already done it!). I was simply asking for an out from the contract (because I lost faith in their ability to execute their side of it) and a refund for the recent service (which still meant eating their large upfront fee…). He relented on exiting the contract and said he’d have to run the refund up the flag pole, but would get back to me in a couple days.
Now four weeks later and many calls put in, I have yet to hear back. I was charged *another monthly fee* in the interim. I tried calling the office one last time and said I had been waiting for three weeks for a return call — I would be much happier to do this directly but am happy to go through my bank to get this fixed, please give me a ring back that week or I’d begrudgingly explore alternatives to get refunded.
So here I am after never having received that call back, after having spent *way* too much time on a task that I’d attempted to hire out precisely to save myself time. Unfortunate turn of events after a very positive first visit, but clearly the work is dependent on the tech and corporate doesn’t really care to follow through on their word.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
