Charminar is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in San Diego! I’ve introduced so many friends and colleagues to this place because I absolutely love it.
I’ve been here multiple times and tried a variety of dishes, and these are my top favorites: Kodi Vepudu, Chicken Majestic, Apollo Fish, Tandoori Chicken, Bezwada Chicken, Butter Chicken, Chicken Ghee Roast, and Chicken 65 Biryani. Every dish is superb, packed with flavor, and consistently well-prepared. I try to visit at least once a month!
Their weekend menu keeps changing, which makes each visit even better. One of my favorites was the Chicken Lollipop they had as part of their Thanksgiving special – it was great.
On top of that, the staff is always welcoming, and the service is impressively quick. Absolutely love this spot and can’t recommend it enough!
Delicious Indian food!!! Highly recommended. Food is full of flavor and perfect quantity. I gave the food 4 out of five stars purely because some of the dishes were a little too spicy for me. I’m a pansy when it comes to spicy food, FYI. Very modern and classy atmosphere. Service was very good and pleasant.
Decent indian food. Variety of options. Chicken Gongura Biryani was decent but spicy. Chicken 65 was good. Butter Chicken and Garlic naan was good. Vegetarian options were good. Vege Pakora, Paneer makhni and veg karahi. Definetely worth try if you are around the area.
We visited San Diego from Seattle and dined here on two occasions. This is a nice, family-friendly restaurant with excellent food, service, and ambiance. The rumali roti is impressive, as are the dal and paneer. The chicken appetizers and biryani are both flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal after a busy day at the beach or SeaWorld!
To all of you who are craving for some hyderabadi etiquette(tehzeeb), this isn’t the place. Mutton biryani was cold as a seal inspite of telling the waiter mansoor: give us something hot and fresh. Appetizers chicken 65 and boti kabab were ok but couldn’t be eaten with out the bread which came much after the Appetizers came in, that’s not how we eat it.
Again, coming back to stone cold mutton biryani there weren’t any proper meat(botiyaan) pieces. The guy at the counter isn’t pleasing enough to its patrons, very poor customer service.
Never again coming here….
