Absolutely the kindest small business owner and the best Greek food I have had yet. We got the gyro sandwiches and they were amazing. I mentioned we were in a bit of a hurry for an engagement session I had to photograph and so he had the food out so quickly for us. Truly will be coming back over and over. Cute decor, pride flags everywhere. Also— the lunch/happy hour special was amazing! Thank you!
Alexis Greek cafe not only has consistently delicious food but they also provide a one of a kind cozy atmosphere that is tough to match in the ever changing landscape of urban san diego.
In addition, the process stay low to the good times and bad.
Staff is very friendly and caring. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Would eat here again ♡
Excellent lunch special. Got the lamb gyro with a side of fries. Tasted amazing.
Love the guy working the tables. Gives that authentic vibe that only an immigrant who doesn’t have for American pleasantries knows.
Can’t believe I haven’t written a review this excellent establishment. Fair prices, mellow ambiance, and great food. The head guy that works there is always hustling and provides great service. It’s a cornerstone of hillcrest. My personal favorite is the Greek dinner with gyro. Fresh salad, soup of the day, fries and gyro with pita. We go pretty regularly when we don’t make dinner, try it yourself, I doubt you’ll be disappointed. Lot of locals come through so you know it’s good.
I’m so happy Alexi is still going strong serving the best gyros in the city! I hadn’t been there for years for some dumb reason. I need to make it in regularly! He’s such a sweetheart. Insanely good, fresh, big gyros sandwich AND perfect crispy fries for under ten bucks? Go support this wonderful local institution!
