The poke was super fresh and really flavorful. Loved that they give you sides along with the rice to add a little variety to your plate. Definitely going to add shrimp tempura each time as well as that was the cherry on top for my plate. Will be back and still recommending to more friends I talk to.
MUST-TRY even if you’re not a poke fan.
Best tasting and freshest poke place in Southbay, so far. My daughter had told me about this place months ago. I finally got to see and taste what the hype was all about. She treated me out yesterday and I am now a believer. Hands down! Fresh and delicious seafood all the way. 8th & B Poke adds plenty of good to National City’s restaurant selection. Wish we had this place closer to the border, where I live.
We ordered 3 dishes: 1) furikake, garlic tuna, citrus salmon 2) scallops, citrus salmon and garlic salmon 3) citrus salmon and garlic salmon
The only downside: parking and line. You will need to be at 8th & Poke way before 11am because food will only last a certain amount of hours. As their sign on door states, “until sold out.” This is not the place where they have back up stock to make more. There will be a line outside and only three at a time inside when placing your order.
When we finally got inside, our order was placed and food was ready to go in no time. We sat on the only stools facing the window and finished our food there. There were tables outside and no chairs, for customer use.
Highly recommend 👍🏼
Hands down the BEST poke I’ve ever had!(and I’ve been to Hawaii multiple times).
I recommend the garlic ahi + scallop salmon.
The owner and head chef has got some real skills.
They sell out quick, so go early!
This is the best Poke my husband and I have ever had and we’ve been to Japan and fancy Michelin-starred restaurants in NYC. The poke master is so friendly and helpful. I recommend the Kali poke! Would definitely come back when we’re in the city!
We got there on a saturday right before noon and there was already a line. Street parking was relatively easy to find. There’s a covered tent where you can wait and they only let one group of cutomers in at a time. I got the medium with salmon/scallop and tako with an additional shrimp tempura and it was more than enough food. The kimchi tako was my favorite! After we got our order we stayed inside and ate at the stools by the window. I loved the combination of all the flavors with the hot rice. So worth the wait!
