An absolute surprise and gem, hidden between a couple of hotels and a Wendy’s on the border between Scripps Ranch and Mira Mesa at Mercy Road/ Scripps Poway Parkway.
Beautiful restaurant, with an extensive menu and an extraordinarily extensive cocktail and wine menu, administrated by proud owners, excellent servers, and some fine chefs. It is very good food, far better than anything within a few miles.
It is Greek, Italian and what I would term more Californian food. Beautiful recipes, beautiful presentation, fantastic cooking.
There is bar seating, with some televisions, comfortable booths, tables with chairs, a “cellar room” (yeah, it’s on the same level though) separated from the main restaurant and a large patio with tables lights, heaters, a fountain and surrounded by shrubbery. Very private feeling, albeit large enough for significant groups.
We are beyond grateful for the incredible event hosted at Yanni’s in December 2024! From start to finish, everything was perfect and truly unforgettable. Our friends and family are still talking about how amazing the evening was.
The team at Yanni’s made everything so seamless and stress-free, and their attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism far exceeded our expectations. We were especially impressed by how flexible they were in accommodating our request for a fully vegan menu. The effort they put into creating a delicious, entirely vegan spread was outstanding, and everyone raved about how amazing the food was—many couldn’t believe it was all plant-based!
The special dessert was the icing on the cake—absolutely one of the best I’ve ever had and a perfect way to end the evening. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
We’re already looking forward to hosting more events at Yanni’s in the future. Thank you for making this celebration a dream come true!
Just incredible. Checked all the boxes, knocked it out of the park. Tyler made sure I couldn’t want for anything, and the food was simply delicious. I’m here for a limited time but will definitely return.
My first time to Yanni’s. It has great ambiance inside and outside, where there is a large covered patio festooned with white lights strung overhead.
We had three different servers. They were all pleasant and helpful. The food was good. My meal included the garlic French fries which were delicious.
We even got a glimpse of Yanni, the owner.
Yanni’s is just off the I-15 freeway for easy access.
New review : Yanni’s is our go-to for consistently great food. This time, we had the lamb burger, Greek pasta, calamari, and whiskey cocktails. The burger was juicy and packed with flavor—better than New Zealand restaurants! The pasta was perfectly Mediterranean with feta and olives, and the calamari was crispy and tender. They also serve complimentary bread with olive oil and vinegar, which is a nice touch. Great food, great drinks—Yanni’s never disappoints!
Update review: I brought my parents in law here because my husband and I believe they would love this place. And we are right. This restaurant becomes one of their favorite restaurants in San Diego. Everyone had a great time here. Something amazed us other than the delicious Mediterranean foods are their homemade desserts. We had two desserts, tiramisu and cheesecake. Both of them are heavenly delicious. I one hundred percent recommend this restaurant.
Previous review: I want to highly recommend you this super good restaurant! We came here twice before but couldn’t get in because it was full. So don’t forget to book a reservation about a week before your dinner date, especially for weekend’s. We tried a couple of items from their Valentine’s Day special menu, the lamb shank with pasta was so delicious. The lamb shank is very tender, the sauce is perfect to eat together with pasta. We also had a calamari which is perfectly cooked as well. The flavor is not too heavy and super great. Also we had their special big baklava, it’s very yummy, and big! They have a lot of drink positions. You will totally enjoy here, please come to try it out.
