I normally like this place but I have no idea why my food was not that great this time around. I ordered some rolled tacos but I didn’t check them ’till I got home. Some smeared guac and no lettuce. 🙃 Also, make sure to always ask for a receipt. There’s also a card fee.
.
*Went back for the lettuce and guac.
When I was in my time of need during a family emergency on Christmas night at 11:30 PM, this place served me up!!! After driving to other spots only to realize they were closed because they never updated Google Maps, this place was OPEN and offered the best bean and cheese burrito in all of San Diego at a reasonable price! And I don’t say that lightly, as I grew up in Chula Vista/National City and am Mexican. GO TO THIS TACO SHOP THEY ARE HARDWORKING PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT QUALITY MEXICAN FOOD ❤️
This’ll be my first negative review of a restaurant, as I don’t enjoy the idea of detracting business from an already struggling industry, but I unfortunately suffered food poisoning as a result of eating Rolberto’s Taco Shop on Sun. Feb 2nd. About two hours after consuming the meal, I was hit with vomiting and diarrhea that still has not subsided. I ordered a Pollo Asado burrito, so I have to suspect the chicken was to blame. I don’t know what to say for a situation like this, as obviously many people enjoy this place, as I once did, but unfortunately I will no longer be coming back.
Good late night mexican/taco shop. Ordered Carne Asada fries which were a good size and tasted OK. The salsas were half empty but tested OK.
I was excited to return after having been here on a previous visit to San Diego. Visually the food looked amazing. Though not bad it wasn’t as good as last time. Not much flavor to the chimichanga nor the guacamole. The chimichanga was mostly tortilla with very little filling. The beans and rice were bland. Hopefully it was just an off day. We’ll definitely try again.
